Art in the Dancehall, one of our favourite Reggae and Dancehall related exhibitons is moving to Subliminal Projects, Los Angeles, where it will be exhibited from February 2 to March 2. The launch party with live music sets by Tom Chasteen (Dub Club), My Lord Sound, The Large and Al Fingers is open to all.

Art in the Dancehall is a project and exhibition curated by Al Fingers and Suze Webb (Shimmy Shimmy) celebrating illustration and design in Jamaican music, from 1979 to the present day.
Launching in Birmingham as part of BASS Festival in early July and continuing to PUMA YARD (London) and KK Outlet (London) in August/September 2012, then on to Miss Lily’s Variety (NYC) in December, the exhibition features the work of seminal dancehall artists Wilfred Limonious (JA), Denzil “Sassafras” Naar (JA), Jamaal Pete (USA) and Tony McDermott (UK).
This foundation is complemented by the work of five young artists from four different countries keeping the tradition alive today: Robin Clare (JA), Ellen G (Israel), Peter Edwards (UK), Daniel David Freeman (UK) and GABE (Germany).

An edition of 100 Tony McDermott screen prints has been produced for the show, featuring the original black and white cover illustration of theCan’t Stop The Dance” singel you see above and will be sold during the show. (Falls jemand von der deutschen Posse einen Print erwerben will bitte kurze Nachricht an uns.)

While talking about Reggae and Dancehall music, we hope you didn`t miss the release of the video recap from David Rodigan on Mungo's Hi Fi Soundsystem this week.

Back in November of last year the Mungo's Hi Fi / Scotch Bonnet crew welcomed the legendary David 'Ram Jam' Rodigan to take control of their session at Chambre 69 in Glasgow. Quality dubplates and pure vibes as Rodigan comes back to his country of origin for the first session ever, opening with Protoje`s Kingston be Wise. While Dance and Clash video recaps usually wouldn`t be mentioned here, the production  by Motion Pixel deserves it as is able to cover the great vibe of the night in a short film.
In weniger als 3 Wochen hat die Hamburger Outsider. Posse die Chance Rodigan zusammen mit Silly Walks live zusehen. Mehr infos in der Date Page.
