Welcome the unofficial official Outsider. Posse Internet home, a.k.a. the temple of procrastination and distraction, a.k.a. "this is not a blog", a.k.a. Hunter S. Thompsons favorite haunt, a.k.a. the place your parents always warned you about. Or what it should be, a place for cultural exchange!

This site functions mainly as an extension of the Outsider. Posse Facebook Page to highlight and promote some selected news, events, projects and links and to preserve them from getting lost in the Facebook Timeline. It also allows us to provide more information then a simple Facebook post or tweet.

The Outsider. Posse is a German based but international minded loose bunch of people supporting and promoting the DIY cultures surrounding skateboarding, music, underground graffiti, art, anarchism, and all that jazz.

We try not to focus on a certain niche but try to report and promote all kinds of youth-, sub-, and counter-cultures and are dedicated to support and promote those who face resistance from the mainstream.

We earn no money from it and make no claims to represent anyone or anything. We are not Skateboarding, not Hip Hop, not Graffiti, not Punk or anything else. It is just an open community pooling their resources under one roof to provide an outlet for themselves and other people who are doing it their way. The Outsider Posse is pretty much what you make of it. We are always excited to find out about new projects, skate events, exhibitions, concerts, Rap, bombing, music, videos, and various things of interest. Just email us info’s, images and links to everything you think should be shared with the Outsider Posse.

Our aim is not to have the “coolest” or latest news, or to be the biggest or the best but instead to put the emphasis on quality and support these who are doing it their way and don`t die a copy.

There is no hidden agenda, grand plan, and no mission statement. You are the Outsider Posse, so make of it what you will.  Express yourself, be you and stay true!


Contribution

The Outsider Posse started as a platform to share things with a skateboarding foundation. But our hope with the OUTSIDER POSSE is that it becomes a platform that weaves all kind of subcultures together and connects cultural minds from different backgrounds with each other. We would seek a community that uses this space to stimulate each other’s thinking and support all kinds of DIY counterculture! This is not possible without the contribution, help, support, development and patience from YOU, the OUTSIDER POSSE.


There are lots of ways to contribute…

Contribute – Due to the actual group of regular contributors most of the stuff here will be rooted in skateboarding culture. So please help us with all links, news and info from other fields, that might be interesting for the POSSE! Please see the contact page for more info!

Translate – A big part from the Posse is located in Germany and some post that are only relevant for the German Outsiders will be written in German, because it will be easier for the actual admins to write and for many readers easier to understand. So the international part of the Posse, will understand totally jack and like a child can only look at many of the interesting photos or videos. So if you think your international buddies from the Posse should have the info too, please help to translate.

All other posts will be written in easy to read “Denglish” because the Posse comes from different parts of the world and talks various languages, so we try to write something everybody can understand. So don’t complain about “bad english” written here.

A few posts from the U.S. Posse might be also to complex to fully understood by everyone in the German Posse. So we would be happy if someone helps out. We will try to run the side fully bi-lingual in the future, but need your help.

Write – we welcome contributions; we need them for this site to thrive and to give more in depth information on a certain topic then only the info we receive. For this we need a broad assortment of writers with different interests who can help with their insight in certain fields. We receive a lot of graff links for example but none of the actual admins is a graff writer and can add more useful information to a post. So if you want your culture to presented better just send in your content.

Comment – Add your thoughts to articles and help discussion to flow. Let us know if you think something is wrong and should be corrected. Let the Posse know if you have additional information on article or can give further links etc.

Feedback – Contact us and let us know how the Posse is doing. We need the “quality control” from the whole Posse. Let us know if we present something that is “cheeky” or is not worth it to be supported from the Posse.

Promote – get the word out about the site and draw others in! Help the Posse to grow, so the Posse can help grow you.

Pictures – we welcome photo’s to illustrate posts and to recap and showcase events and exhibitions promoted here, so the people from the POSSE who couldn´t join the event can get an impression.

Behind the scenes – we need help with the design, administration, proof-reading, updates, communication etc. You can be a Facebook admin right away. If we see you don`t abuse this, deliver useful news for the Posse and don`t spam or do other bullshit, we will give you admin rights for this page and access to the mailbox. Just let us know you want to get involved more.

Join the OUTSIDER POSSE!

The Outsider Posse is not a Posse! We don't really understand the need to associate yourself with a bunch of folks you've never met and with whom the only thing you've got in common is a diverse interest in counterculture. The Outsider Posse is no elite circle, secret society or members only club, It is just news, links and observations from a bunch of individuals. We’re not here to fit in. We’re here to stand out.

So the Outsider Posse is free and open to every individual who would like to be a part of this. You don`t need to be invited and nobody can refuse you. You don`t need to make out an application or become initiated from someone. Joining the posse means to connect, exchange with other people from the Posse and to support them or their projects.

F.A.Q. and sometimes a Fuck you!

Q:Why there are no updates on the site?
A:This site is no blog or any other form of regular updated website. It is only updates once a week to highlight or promote a few selected news and events and give them

Q:How come my submission isn’t on the website?
A:We get a lot of submissions weekly. While many are great stories, only a few can make it on to this site. We only highlight a few selected news, that should be shared with the Posse because they could be from general interest and need a little more information then a status update or tweet. Also news about people who actively participate in the OUTSIDER POSSE in any form are preferred to be published here. The rest will be shared via the Outsider Posse Facebook page and twitter! If you really feel your submission is worthy to posted here then submit it again! It is entirely possible we just missed it the first time around.

Q: I submitted news. When will I see it on Facebook/Twitter?
A:Patience. First of all, let us explain that we receive a few submissions every day. It’s quite a bit of reading. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that your submission will be posted, but all submissions are greatly appreciated! That said, if your submission is genuinely interesting and is in the good nature of the Posse you should see it soon. We want to share interesting news with the posse and not flood the FB timeline or twitter feed. The aim is quality not quantity. We also ensure overly crude submissions, or those inciting hatred for whatever reason will not make the cut. If you think it is worth our while, try submitting it again, we might have missed it.

Q:I submitted news about my exhibition opening in Sao Paulo or our skate contest in Italy, that would be worth to be shared with the Posse, why didn`t you post it?
A:Because no one who read it would be able to attend it. Actually the Posse is mainly in the southwest of Germany, London U.K., O.C. and Bay Area of California USA, Oslo Norway and a very few in Barcelona Spain. So news about very regional events where we have no audience at the moment will not be posted. As soon we have enough people in the Posse from your area we will post about it. But if you have a photo or video recap from your event please send it again, because that we can share with the Posse.

Q: I submitted a link to my cool Tumblr YoloSwag or KushSkate or BombingHype, where I repost cool pics of weed, trains, sneakers, girls with box logo caps or oldschool skatepics the whole day. Why don`t you add me to the Link List or share the link?
A:The OUTSIDER POSSE is about making and creating not about taking!

Q: I just started my upcoming brand with with triangles and crosses printed on t-shirts and snapbacks. Can you please share it with the Posse?
A: The Outsider Posse is about culture and not commerce. So you want hardly see any product related news here unless they have a heavy cultural reference or relation and we think they are really worth it.

Q: Hey I run a small skate, graff or whatever store, can you please add me to the link list?
A:The OUTSIDER POSSE really supports small independent retailers but again: the OUTSIDER POSSE is about culture not commerce. So we don`t link to any shops, brands or other commercial services. In the very few cases we have a link to a retailer or brand, we see them strongly supporting some culture or project or the owner is an active part and supporter of the Outsider Posse.

Q: Hey I want to advertise on the OUTSIDER POSSE or rent banner space!
A: The OUTSIDER is and will stay totally advertising free. We don`t do any form of advertising and not even Google ads. The Banner you see are there to highlight a few links from the link list, for people who strongly support us and are changed on a regular basis.

Q: Hey I am the PR manager for blahblahblah and send you a bulk info mail about blahblahblah. Why don´t you shared it?
A: Dude, get the fuck out! If you don`t belong, don`t be long!

Q: Hey, I am a crooked german layer who is making money buy suing young bloggers for no reason. Who can I contact?
A: We would probably give a fuck but we already gave it to your mother. Even though part of the team who run this site is german, the site is owened by of one of our american members. So please get the fuck out or see our info page and we get you in touch with a law fim in San Francisco!

Q: Why are my comments not showing up in the comments section?
A: Stop spamming our readers or trying to promote your website, then try commenting. We also don’t allow racial slurs or (some) offensive terms!

Q:Hey, I saw a website like this already.
A:Yeah, they ripped us off.

Q:Why don’t you post everyday?
A:Because sometimes we go drink beer instead.

Q: Does the Outsider Posse worship Satan?
A: No, we believe in the Sovereign Sect.
